Community & Other Health Associations
Refers to individual organizations or groups of organizations that are created to pursue particular objectives within a defined community, neighbourhood, geographic area, or jurisdiction. These associations may comprise public or private, for profit, or not-for-profit entities or any combination of these. The associations tend to operate at the grassroots level to proactively improve and promote the well-being of their location population, independent of government programs. This category may include associations across larger geographical areas or multiple jurisdictions. <br/><br/>The pan-Canadian Health Data Framework may use health surveys and guidelines published by these associations as reference inputs.<br/><br/>Examples of this type of stakeholder include, but are not limited to:<br/><ul>
<li>- Ontario’s Alliance for Healthier Communities publishing evaluation guidelines</li><li>- The <i>Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations</i> (AAPCHO) formed to advance the data and medical knowledge on Asian Americans and Native Hawaiins and Pacific Islanders to advocate for their unique and diverse health needs, inform solutions, and improve health equity, publishing assessment guidelines</li></ul> Source: <a href="file://https://aapcho.org/about/ \h"><font color="#0000ff"><u>AAPCHO Web site</u></font></a><br/><br/>
